Introduce you to DSI Team

Hi everyone,

This is the Developer Support for Internet (DSI) Team. We will post a list and categorize the articles for the products which are supported by our team.

· BizTalk Server – BizTalk Server is an industry initiative to promote Extensible Markup Language (XML) as the common data exchange language for e-commerce and application integration on the Internet.

· Internet Information Service (IIS) - Internet Information Server (IIS) is a group of Internet servers (including a Web or HTTP server and a FTP server) with additional capabilities for Windows 2000, Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 Server operating systems.

· ASP.NET - ASP.NET is the next generation of Microsoft's Active Server Page (ASP), a feature of Internet Information Server (IIS). it supports code written in compiled languages such as Visual Basic, C++, C#, and Perl, and it features server controls that can separate the code from the content.

· Host Integration Server (HIS) - Host Integration Server (HIS) offers key enabling technologies that allow enterprise organizations to integrate their mission-critical host applications, data sources and security systems with new solutions developed using the Microsoft Windows platform.

· Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ) - Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ) technology enables applications running at different times to communicate across heterogeneous networks and systems that may be temporarily offline. MSMQ provides guaranteed message delivery, efficient routing, security, and priority-based messaging. It can be used to implement solutions for both asynchronous and synchronous messaging scenarios.

· Commerce Server - Commerce Server is a scalable e-commerce platform that provides ready-to-use features for developing, deploying, managing, and upgrading effective e-commerce applications for the Web. This extensible platform enables you to build solutions that scale with business needs and integrate with existing systems and data.

· Application Center - Application Center 2000 is Microsoft's deployment and management tool–making managing groups of servers as simple as managing a single computer.

· Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) - Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) is Microsoft's programming model for using managed code to build unified Web services and other distributed systems that can talk to each other. WCF focuses on connecting XML to programs that are built using development languages supported by Microsoft, such as VB.NET and C#. To support this cross-language communication, WCF uses the extensible Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP).

· COM+/MSDTC - COM+ is an extension of Component Object Model (COM), Microsoft's strategic building block approach for developing application programs. COM+ is both an object-oriented programming architecture and a set of operating system services. It adds to COM a new set of system services for application components while they are running, such as notifying them of significant events or ensuring they are authorized to run.

The Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC) service is a Windows component that is responsible for coordinating transactions that span multiple resource managers, such as databases, message queues, and file systems. MSDTC is included in all MS Windows versions later than Win98. MSDTC is used by "COM" and "ASP.NET" to coordinate transactions.
