Using the typesetting features of Word 2010

If you're trained in design or typesetting, you'll be thrilled to know that Word 2010 offers even more control over your type including options for kerning of letters, ligatures, number spacing, and more. Simply select the text you want to adjust, right click, choose Font, and go to the Advanced tab:

Font, Advanced settings

Select your choices and click OK. Or you can choose Set As Default if you want to make these changes your new standard for the current document or all of your documents going forward:

Set default font

Note that OpenType Features may be unavailable if the font you've chosen doesn't have OpenType support, or if you're in compatibility mode for older documents.
