Going Mobile with MassChallenge
Did you know that smart phone data usage increased by 89% in the year ending June 2011? or that there were estimated to be 5.3 billion mobile subscriptions by the end of 2010? or that 90% of the worlds population is in an area with mobile coverage? These are staggering numbers that give insight into the continued and increasing impact of mobile devices on application development, entrepreneurial activities, and our own social interaction. Beginning tomorrow evening, Thursday, November 16th, MassChallenge, in conjunction with EFactor and AT&T, will be hosting three events focusing on just these topics. Note you must register for each event independently – Thursday’s event has a nominal admission fee and the other two are free!

AT&T and Apigee are rolling out several developer hackathons across the country, and the Boston edition runs on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The event is designed for technical (and non-technical!) attendees to learn about new technologies, build mobile apps, get fed, compete for prizes across different categories and most importantly, meet new people and scout for teammates to work on new or current projects. There will even be live developer support from organizations like Sencha, Apigee, Microsoft, PhoneGap, AppMobi, and RedFoundry to guide you!
