Office Web Applications Announcement at PDC

Another exciting announcement at the Professional Developers Conference yesterday - Office Web Applications!

Key points:

  • As part of the next release of Office, Microsoft will provide Office web applications, which are light weight versions of Office programs delivered through the browser (IE, Safari, FireFox).
  • Consumers will be able to get Office web applications as an advertising supported service through Office Live. Businesses will be able to get the Office web applications through hosted subscriptions and existing volume licensing programs.
