Discussions can take a variety of forms, and take place across any number of platforms - including in-person, over the phone or via social media.

What businesses are looking for is for ways to improve the efficiency with which they deliver goods and/or services to the front line.

Customers are often able to recommend ways to reduce costs, for instance by taking unnecessary steps out of the supply chain or changing the way products are made.

Even if they are not able to deliver some value-adding insight, there can be other benefits to engaging with customers.

Entering into conversation with members of the public can help boost brand loyalty and potentially encourage them to remain loyal customers for years to come.
