Simple Design, Creativity and Why people succeed

Over four months ago, I started watching TED Talks. What are TED talks you might ask?

Well, TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design and it is a conference that “brings together 1000 thought leaders, movers and shakers” with the aim to share ideas. The conference is extremely popular, selling out every year in advance, even with the sticker price of $4000 just to get in. After watching some of the previews I think it is worth every penny.

TED talks are a free view into some of the talks that take place at the conference, and I thought to share a link to three of them, which I think are particularly great. In your spare time check them out and tell me what you think.

Simple Design

You are going to love this one if you hate some of Microsoft’s UI. I will only add that recently the PM team sat down to discuss this video and come up with ways to put TFS in the new Microsoft category. Stay tuned and in a month or so we will share more on that.

Why do people succeed?

This is another great talk and the reason why I like it so much is because of its simplicity and truth. Moreover, the PERSIST section is just too funny.

Learning to be creative

This talk might be about creativity but the real focus is on the failures of the education system to keep the creative person within us. He makes a very compelling argument by the use of real life stories and inspirational vision. After this, you will see yourself challenge the status quo and attempt to bring back that creative child.

I hope you get a chance to see some of these and maybe we will meet in TED one day.
