The Introduction to ASP.NET 2.0 will be a demo-oriented presentation of the new features in ASP.NET, including new tools for quickly building Web enabled web sites with less coding. We will do a demonstration of how ASP.NET allows developers/designers to more easily create sites with a common look and feel as well as some of the new personalization features. The demonstration will also show some of the new data-oriented web controls that will provide developers with native access to data provided from XML, Web Services, mid-tier Business Objects, and SQL data-sources.

This session will cover:

  • How to use Master/Content pages in ASP 2.0
  • Accessing data from Relational and XML Data Stores
  • Building Membership capabilities into your ASP.NET web site.
  • New authentication/authorization tools and services
  • Building Portal-like features into web applications (web parts)
  • Adding skins and themes web pages and applications

In addition to the XBOX raffle at the end of the dinner, the first 75 dinner attendees will receive a FREE copy of Visual Studio 2005 Express Edition (either, VB.NET, Web Developer, or C#) as supplies of each last. Only one copy, of one of these versions per attendee, no exceptions please.
