About the Conference

Join us for a day of developer-oriented technical sessions, featuring Microsoft Silverlight 2, Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Visual Studio 2008, Expression Blend, Data Access with Language Integrated Query (LINQ), and .NET 3.5 Extensions Preview. These exciting technologies enable entirely new types of applications to be built in record time.Discover the ability to create rich, visually stunning, interactive content and applications that run on multiple browsers and operating systems with Microsoft Silverlight 2. You will also learn about the benefits of Microsoft Silverlight from a developer perspective and get an introduction to building Microsoft Silverlight applications using JavaScript and C# using Microsoft developer and designer tools. In the session on Building WPF applications, you will learn the basics of building WPF applications in the Visual Studio 2008 WPF designer, get a clear view on when you should work in XAML code and on the Visual Studio design surface to build your WPF application, and see how you can use Microsoft Expression Blend in conjunction with Visual Studio 2008 WPF designer. Modern applications operate on data in several different forms: Relational tables, XML documents, and in-memory objects. Each of these domains can have profound differences in semantics, data types, and capabilities, and much of the complexity in today’s applications is the result of these mismatches. The session on Data Access with LINQ will explore the new data access capabilities brought into VB9 via LINQ. You will learn about simplifying querying data via integrated query and transform operations, as well as simplifications in working with XML. The final session of the day discusses ASP.NET 3.5 Extensions Preview which is a new release that provides new functionality being added to ASP.NET 3.5 and ADO.NET in 2008. This presentation will delve in to the new capabilities packed into this upcoming release including ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Dynamic Data, ASP.NET AJAX, ADO.NET Entity Framework, ADO.NET Data Services, and Silverlight Controls for ASP.NET.

These sessions will target Developers, Architects and Web designers, be very much demonstration oriented, and will be delivered by seasoned developers with experience in Government and Public Sector. Seize this opportunity to immerse yourself amidst these exciting new technologies!
