‘Goin Mobile’ at DistribuTECH with Motion Computing
When we meet with our Power & Utility customers to talk about their business priorities, the conversation almost always touches on the topic of mobility. It should be no surprise that our customers are looking to re-shape their mobility strategies to support the needs of the modern Utility worker. Our strategy with Windows 10 is to help our customers achieve their goals by enabling a consistent mobile user experience across devices and supporting the way people interact naturally, through voice, gestures and gaze. Of course, part of this experience means working with our partners to make sure our customers have the right devices whether they are in the office or in the field.
This week at DistribuTech in San Diego, our partner Motion Computing unveiled their latest innovations in tablet computing for Utility and industry field workforces with upgrades to their F5 and C5 Tablet Series Windows computers. Motion Computing has delivered state of the art devices packed with significant upgrades. We got a firsthand look at the F5m and C5m rugged Windows-based tablets and it was easy to see how they will make field workers more productive through increased processing power, improved graphics and the new ultra-high speed 4G XLTE broadband radios that will provide mobile workers with twice the bandwidth to boost productivity capabilities in the field. These are really slick devices that we believe with help Utilities deliver a terrific user experience, greatly increase productivity and keep them ‘Goin Mobile’ in a mobile first, cloud first world. - Jon C.
