Office 2007 Item Types and Message Classes

Here's a great link with a summary of the Office 2007 Item Types and Messages Classes. Comes in very handy for creating macro's to generate Office based items using SlickRun. SlickRun is a great keystroke-based application launcher for Microsoft Windows. I can't imagine getting through my day without it.

I use these many times a day to generate new emails, contacts, distribution lists, calendar items, meeting requests, tasks, etc. in Office 2007.

For example, here's one of my favorite "MagicWords":

Filename:  "c:\Program Files (x86)\microsoft office\office12\outlook.exe"

Parameters:  /c ipm.note

With this MagicWord, I can hit WindowsKey+W, the prompt comes up:

Then I type oemail, but usually only oe before the MagicWord is recognized.

That's a total of 3 keystrokes to get a new email generated that looks like this:

This is a huge time saver. I never have to touch the mouse to get a new email started.

Also great for creating quick notes, thought I use JOT and Outlook tasks to keep track of quick notes and tasks I'm trying to keep track of.
