Welcome to the Security Track

Welcome to the Security Track of the Building Clouds Blog.  This is a new track on the Building Clouds Blog that we’ll use to post a variety of content relating to Security as well as Identity and Access.

I’m Greg Blaum, a Senior Program Manager on the Windows Server and System Center (WSSC) Customer Architecture and Technology (CAT) team. In my years at Microsoft I’ve held a variety of roles. Over the last several years I’ve focused heavily on Security and Identity topics, so I’ll be posting regularly here in the Security track.

With the recent announcements of Access and Information Protection scenarios in Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows 8.1, this will be an initial focus area within the Security track. We’ll be diving into these scenarios: Workplace Join, Web Application Proxy, Work Folders, and more.  We’re making some major strides with our upcoming releases in this area and it is an exciting time to delve deeper into this area.

From time to time, we’ll likely have general Security, information protection, and anti-malware topics as well.

Recently, I had the opportunity to speak at Microsoft TechEd Europe in Madrid, Spain. The session, ATC-B224 – Understanding Access and Information Protection Architecture, was recorded and is a good primer on the new Access and Information Protection scenarios that we’re working on for Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows 8.1.

I’m looking forward to blogging here…stay tuned for new content, and stay secure!
