Day 2 of STB at the 2010 Worldwide Partner Conference

Today begins Day 2 of Microsoft’s 2010 Worldwide Partner Conference.

You might have heard Bob Muglia, president of the Server and Tools Business, talk about the cloud in his keynote yesterday. He explained the Windows Azure platform appliance as a new way for customers and partners to run cloud technology in their datacenters and deliver cloud services to customers.

As Bob mentioned, a select number of customers and partners have already signed up to deploy the appliance, among them online retailer eBay.

ebay’s Richard Brewer-Hay shared a little more about the company’s plans for the Windows Azure platform appliance. Visit the ebay Ink blog to learn more about how this first step toward cloud computing will make a difference in their ability to create a more nimble, cost-effective and scalable IT infrastructure—for an online business, all critical selling points.
