Microsoft Acquires France-based Mobile Analytics Company, Capptain
On Wednesday, Microsoft announced the acquisition of France-based company, Capptain. Capptain’s mobile push analytics solutions will be integrated into Microsoft Azure suite of services. With Microsoft’s continued focus in mobile apps and investment in cloud services, the acquisition will bring new elements to Azure. Capptain’s solutions will allow users to be productive on-the-go, and provide enterprises the option to share important information in real-time. Microsoft and Capptain coming together highlights the importance of mobility by the cloud to provide a productive and more connected environment.

Kordia Group Limited becomes first SAP customer on Azure
Following last week’s announcement that Microsoft extended its partnership with SAP to deliver new cloud, data and mobility solutions for mutual customers, Korida Group Limited became the first SAP customer on Azure. Kordia, a telecommunications and media company, delivers network and technology solutions to customers in New Zealand and Australia. It is also the country’s leading provider of television and radio facilities and the third largest carrier network in the country.
Kordia utilizes SAP infrastructure and was behind on SAP upgrades and patching, so in order to address their problems the company deployed its SAP environment to Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines. The migration was finished in less than three weeks and the company found that the process was straightforward. Since deploying, Kordia has experienced greater flexibility and scalability that will save them money. Kordia anticipates that this migration will bring its products and services more quickly to customers and sees “strong possibilities for the business.”
