Introducing the Visual Studio ALM Rangers – Ethem Azun

This post is part of an ongoing series of Rangers introductions. See An index to all Rangers covered on this blog for more details.

Who are you

I’m an Application Development Manager and ALM SME from Microsoft Switzerland. I help customers optimize their development processes and shape their application governance, architectural standards and application portfolio targeting quality and agility. Outside of Microsoft, I’m helping start-ups get going with their technology choices to forge innovation and working on ideas of my own. Besides that, I’m the solo singer of a blues/jazz choir in Berne, a notorious tango dancer, a work-in-progress jazz piano player and a wine lover.

What makes you tick

The harder and seemingly impossible, the better :) I don’t always have solutions at the beginning but usually figure them out along the way. Seeing happy customers makes my day.

Where do you live

I live officially in Zürich: not the capital but the heart of Switzerland. But these days I live more in airplanes and trains than cities.

Where do you call home

Where my beloved ones and friends are.

Why are you active in the Rangers Program

It’s a perfect opportunity to help contribute to the community while having the chance to get connected internally and externally to the people who devote themselves to the Microsoft development tools and processes, as well as a perfect learning tool to improve the existing skills.

What is the best Rangers project you worked in and why

I started first with helping the Word Coded UI Extension. Then I was the project leader of Rangers ALM Assessment (best experience ever!) and also contributed to the TFS Service Guidance. Besides that I’m looking forward to contributing to whatever I can.
