In FY18, Aquent continues to provide quality-related support to the APEX organization. The statement of work for the FY18 managed editorial service is funded and scoped for the following work:
Core editorial service: Upon request via a TFS work item, authors can request a standard edit pass on technical content after initial publication of the content. The scope includes only articles that will be published to technical documentation libraries. The editors review and provide feedback on spelling, grammar, punctuation, clarity, basic Microsoft Style Guide items, and product specific terminology.
Pull request review for certain prioritized technical documentation repositories: a subset of the resources on the managed service team are reviewing documentation pull requests, providing authors with feedback, and merging pull requests that meet the defined quality criteria for merge. The list of repositories prioritized for this service appears later in this article.
Azure service update announcements: This is a specific, defined, and funded engagement. All service update announcements are routed automatically to the managed editorial service team; edit is a required step in publishing a service update.
Scripting Guy blog posts: This is a specific, defined, and funded engagement. The team does not edit blog posts for other blogs or channels.
The program functions under a fixed per-month budget. Items in the workflow covered by this statement of work are subject to prioritization by the APEX leadership team and depend on organizational priorities, resourcing, and budget.
