Required Elements for Video

The Microsoft logo must appear at the end of your video. You can use either a static logo or an animated logo.

  1. Download/copy the logo from the //brandtools website. (select either Microsoft brand guidelines, or All logos)
  2. Import the logo into your Camtasia project.
  3. Place it at the end of your timeline. Do not adjust the duration.
  4. Resize to fill the entire screen.

Motion graphics

Import the motion graphics into your Camtasia Media Library so that they're available for all future video projects, and you don't have to re-add them each time.

Copy the motion graphics to your Camtasia library

  1. Install Quicktime for Windows. This is required for the branded motion graphics .mov files.
  2. Open Camtasia Studio (not the Recorder, but the editing tool).
  3. From the menu selectFile >Library >Import Media to library.
  4. Browse to the resource folder and select the files to import (https://microsoft.sharepoint.com/teams/STBCSI/e/CE/Shared%20Documents/mihart/Motion%20Graphics).
  5. Back in Camtasia Studio, select the Library tab and scroll to the bottom to see the newly-imported files.
  6. Hover over one of the files and notice it says "Copied to Library."

You can also link to the motion graphics instead of importing. But if you work offline, the files won't be available.

  1. If you haven't done so already, install Quicktime for Windows so that the motion graphics (.mov) will render in Camtasia.
  2. In Camtasia Studio, click the Tools menu, and then click Options .
  3. Under Library Content , select Link to content, and then clickOkay.
  4. Select the Library tab. It's between the Clip Bin tab and the Callouts tab.
  5. From the menu select File >Library >Import Media to libraryBrowse to the resource folder and select the files to import.
  6. Back in Camtasia Studio, select the Library tab and scroll to the bottom to see the newly-imported files.
  7. Hover over one of the files and notice it says "Linked to Library"

Organize the imported files into a folder

This procedure is optional but recommended if you plan to add more than one motion graphics package (e.g., orange, blue, red).

  1. From the main menu, File >Library >New folder.
  2. Give the folder a descriptive name, such as SQL Server Motion Graphics.
  3. Select one or more .mov files you just imported and drag them to the new folder.
    • If you see the error "No codec available," download the free QuickTime player.
    • If you do not see the "No codec available" error, but cannot import a graphics package, install the free QuickTime player. After you install the player, close Camtasia if you had it open. Then open Camtasia and import the graphics package.

Product logos

If you decide to use product logos in your video, you can download the most-recent versions from //brandtools. Import product logos into your Camtasia Media Library or Clip Bin.

Some teams add a product logo to the bottom right corner of their videos. The logo remains there from the beginning of the video until just before the closing Microsoft logo clip.
