Remarks

The 2D Gaussian is defined as:

Where zeta (z) is a vector holding the pixel coordinates and mu (μ) is a vector holding the mean of the Gaussian in either direction.

The sigma defines the rate of falloff of the Gaussian. Smaller sigma values blur over fewer pixels.
