Hash.MD5 Property

Definition

Gets the MD5 hash value for the assembly.

public:
 property cli::array <System::Byte> ^ MD5 { cli::array <System::Byte> ^ get(); };
public byte[] MD5 { get; }
member this.MD5 : byte[]
Public ReadOnly Property MD5 As Byte()

Property Value

Byte[]

A byte array that represents the MD5 hash value for the assembly.

Examples

The following example computes the MD5 hash for myAssembly and stores it in hashcode.

Hash^ hash = gcnew Hash( myAssembly );
array<Byte>^ hashcode = hash->MD5;
Hash hash = new Hash ( myAssembly );
Byte[] hashcode = hash.MD5;
Dim hash As New Hash(myAssembly)
Dim hashcode As Byte() = hash.MD5

Remarks

The assembly specified in the class constructor provides the bytes for the hash computation.

Due to collision problems with MD5, Microsoft recommends SHA256.
