Definition

Gets or sets the text that is to be displayed on the item.

Property Value

A string representing the item's text. The default value is the empty string ("").

The following code example demonstrates how to set the Text, Overflow, and TextDirection properties, and handle the Click event. To run this example, paste the following code into a form that contains a ToolStrip named movingToolStrip and call InitializeMovingToolStrip in the form's constructor or Load event handler.

Remarks

You can create an access key to the item by adding an ampersand ("&") before a letter in the text value. For more information, see How to: Create Access Keys for Windows Forms Controls.

ToolStripItem uses the Text property as the default source for the ToolTip content. Set AutoToolTip to false to use ToolTipText as the source for ToolTip content.
