Type of forms

Applies to PowerApps and Dynamics 365 (online), version 9.x

There are several different types of forms and each type has a specific functionality or use. The following table describes the types of forms available:

Form Type Description
Main Used in all client types including, Unified Interface, the classic web application, Dynamics 365 for Outlook, and Dynamics 365 for tablets.

These forms provide the main user interface for interacting with entity data. More information: Create and edit main forms
Mobile Used for the Dynamics 365 for phones pages. This simplified form is designed to be used for mobile devices.

The mobile forms for updated entities are not changed.
Quick Create Used in n all client types including, Unified Interface, the classic web application, Dynamics 365 for Outlook, and Dynamics 365 for tablets.

For updated entities, these forms provide a basic form optimized for creating new records.
Quick View Used in n all client types including, Unified Interface, the classic web application, Dynamics 365 for Outlook, and Dynamics 365 for tablets.

For updated entities, these forms appear within the main form to display additional data for a record that is referenced by a lookup field in the form. More information: Create and edit quick view forms
