Change the project group

You can change the project group of a project or an estimate project. You can make this change before or after the project transactions have been posted.

Change the project group for a project

  1. Click Project management and accounting > Common > Projects > All projects.

  2. Select the project that you want to assign to a different project group.

  3. On the Action Pane, on the Project tab, in the Set up group, click Project group.

  4. In the Change to group field, select a different project group.

  5. If you want to reassign the selected project’s subprojects to the new project group, select the Change subproject check box.

  6. Click OK.

Change the project group for an estimate project

Note

This procedure does not apply if Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 is installed.

  1. Click Project management and accounting > Common > Projects > Estimate projects.

  2. Select the estimate project that you want to assign to a different project group.

  3. On the Action Pane, in the Related information group, click Projects.

  4. In the All projects list page, on the Project tab, in the Set up group, click Project group.

  5. In the Change to group field, select a different project group.

  6. Click OK.

Note

If you change the project group of an estimate project, all projects that are linked to the estimate project are reassigned to the same project group as the estimate project.
