Set up competitors

You can set up competitors, and you can also set up a competitor's price for a specific retail product. You can then track the competitor's price for the product. Every time that the competitor changes the price of the product, you can set up the new price as a new competitor price but retain a record of the previous price.
Set up competitors
Use the following procedure to set up a competitor in Retail.
Click Sales and marketing > Common > Opportunities > Competitors.
On the Competitors list page, on the Action Pane, in the New group, click Competitor.
In the Competitors form, on the General FastTab, specify the name, type, and organizational details of the competitor.
On the other FastTabs, enter other information that is appropriate for the competitor. For more information about the fields in the form, see Competitor (form).
Configure competitor prices
Use this procedure to set up competitor prices for products that you want to track.
Click Sales and marketing > Common > Opportunities > Competitors. On the Competitors list page, select a competitor. Then, on the Action Pane, in the Retail group, click Competitor prices.
Click Retail > Common > Products > Released products by category. On the Released product details list page, select a product. Then, on the Retail tab, on the Action Pane, in the Inquiries group, click Competitor prices.
In the Competitor prices form, click New to create a new competitor price.
In the Item number field, select a product.
In the Date of price field, enter the effective date of the price. Then, in the Price field, type the competitor’s price for the product.
On the General FastTab, enter other information that is appropriate for the product.
