Currency exchange rates (form)

Click General ledger > Setup > Currency > Currency exchange rates.

Use this form to define currency exchange rates between any two currencies, or a currency pair. The exchange rate that is calculated is based on the accounting currency, reporting currency, and exchange rate type for the legal entity. Currencies are shared and can be used by any legal entity.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Print exchange rates

Print the exchange rates report. This button is available only when an exchange rate type and a From currency and To currency, or currency pair, are selected.

Add

Create a new exchange rate for the selected currency pair.

Remove

Remove the selected exchange rate for the selected currency pair.

Fields

Exchange rate type

Select the exchange rate type for the currency exchange rate.

From currency

Select the currency to convert from.

To currency

Select the currency to convert to.

Quotation unit

Select the number of units of other currencies that the exchange rates are based on. The value depends on the usual convention for the currency that is selected as the accounting currency.

From date

Select the starting date to display exchange rates in the grid.

To date

Select the ending date to display exchange rates in the grid.

Start date

Selecting the starting date when the current exchange rate is valid.

Exchange rate

Enter the exchange rate for the currencies that are displayed in the From currency and To currency fields.
