Transfer worker (form)

Click Human resources > Common > Workers > Workers. Select the worker to transfer. On the Action Pane, click Worker tab > Personnel actions group > Transfer worker.

Use this form to transfer a worker from one position into a different position.

Worker

The worker whom you are transferring to a new position.

Job

Current assignment: The job associated with the worker’s current position assignment.

New assignment: Select a job that the worker’s new position is associated with. If you select a job, the values available for the new assignment in the Position field are limited to the positions that are associated with the job that you selected.

Position

Current assignment: The position that the worker is currently assigned to. If the worker is currently assigned to multiple positions, select the position that the worker is to exit.

New assignment: Select the position to assign to the worker.

Primary

Current assignment: If selected, this check box indicates that the worker’s current position is the worker’s primary position.

New assignment: Select the check box to make the worker’s new position the worker’s primary position.

Full-time equivalent

The employment factor of the position, where 1 equals a full-time employee. For the new assignment, accept the default employment factor, or enter a different employment factor for the worker’s new position.

Assignment start date/time

Current assignment: The date and time when the worker’s current position assignment began.

New assignment: Enter the date and time when the worker will start the new position.

Assignment end date/time

Current assignment: The date and time when the current position assignment will end.

New assignment: If the new position is a temporary position, enter the date and time when the worker’s new position will end. If there is no planned end date to the new position assignment, accept the default value in the field.

Transfer reason

Current assignment: Select a reason code that indicates why the worker was transferred from the current position assignment.

New assignment: Select the reason code that indicates why the worker is assigned to the new position.

Compensation

If the worker is receiving a compensation adjustment, you can enter the new values in this area.

Personnel action type

If your organization has enabled personnel actions, you must select a Personnel action type before you can continue. For more information, see Personnel actions.

Retire position

Select this check box to retire the current position. This field is only available if personnel actions are not enabled.

Note

When you retire a position, you must create a new position duration for the position before you can assign the position to another worker. Also, when you retire a position, you will end any future worker assignments for that position.
