Note: The Microsoft Graph API for Intune requires an active Intune license for the tenant.

Create a new user object.


One of the following permissions is required to call this API. To learn more, including how to choose permissions, see Permissions. The specific permission required depends on the context.

Request body

In the request body, supply a JSON representation for the user object.

The following table shows the properties that are required when you create the user.

Property Type Description
id String Unique identifier of the user.
deviceEnrollmentLimit Int32 The limit on the maximum number of devices that the user is permitted to enroll. Allowed values are 5 or 1000.

Request body property support varies according to context.


If successful, this method returns a 201 Created response code and a user object in the response body.
