Continue the cycle to create a culture of change and education transformation

Continuing meetings between coaches and leaders also allows for continued growth and evolution, so hold each other accountable to meeting regularly according to the cadence cycle that was initially developed. Some ideas to ensure successful meeting outcomes are:

  • Bring the summative and formative data and related assets related to each coaching cycle to each meeting. This information should include data for both educators and students, where applicable.
  • Review the data and discuss how adjustments and modifications to components of teaching and learning—including how digital tools and products are being used—can then be made to assure continued growth and success.
  • Determine how to share this identified information to various levels within the organization and with relevant stakeholders through meetings, reports, digital assets, etc.
  • Cocreate these presentations, with an eye on encouraging community participation and ownership (and to ensure maximum participation, deliver these presentations both in person and virtually).

Participants will look forward to these meetings, where there are opportunities to reflect, reassess, adapt, grow, and determine how to best repeat the coaching process, adjusting the instructional and educational strategies, goals, and objectives along the way.

As these connections continue throughout the academic year, plan to reiterate and evolve the process for the following year (and beyond).

As an instructional coach or school leader, significant progress can be made to establish a culture of change and impactful educational transformation. Instructional coaches are the bridge between leadership and educators to foster this change. Together, everyone is creating a culture of communication and ownership, in which all education community members feel empowered and vested in a collective endeavor to increase student academic achievement and success.
