AI has the capacity to empower the whole world to achieve more. From empowering technical development teams to mobilizing an entire organization to unlock the true potential of AI, enterprises need to think strategically about AI – and they need to start today.

A successful AI strategy must consider cultural issues as well as business issues. Becoming an AI-ready organization requires a fundamental transformation in how you do things, how employees relate to each other, what skills they have, and what processes and principles guide your behaviors. This unit is designed to help you understand which are the key elements that make a culture AI-ready and proposes a framework to drive that change in your organization.

At Microsoft, we’ve recognized six principles that we believe should guide AI development and use — fairness, reliability and safety, privacy and security, inclusiveness, transparency, and accountability. For us, these principles are the cornerstone of a responsible and trustworthy approach to AI, especially as intelligent technology becomes more prevalent in the products and services we use every day. We recognize that every individual, company, and region will have their own beliefs and standards that should be reflected in their AI journey. We want to share our perspective as you consider developing your own guiding principles.

This module provides a high-level overview of the primary concepts of AI and the technologies behind it. We then dive into how Microsoft is turning the latest advancements in AI into tools, products, and services that can be used by organizations.
