3.4.4.5 An RPC Client Application Closes a Named Pipe

The caller supplies the ClientGenericContext structure returned by the interface specified in section 3.4.4.1.

If the ClientGenericContext.ProtocolDialect is that specified in [MS-CIFS] or in [MS-SMB], the request MUST be handled as specified in section 3.2.4.7, with the following as input parameters:

  • Client.Open: The ProtocolSpecificOpen field from the ClientGenericContext structure supplied by the caller.

  • File creation time: zero.

If the ClientGenericContext.ProtocolDialect is that specified in [MS-SMB2], the request MUST be handled as specified in [MS-SMB2] section 3.2.4.5, with the following as input parameters:

  • Client.Open: The ProtocolSpecificOpen field from the ClientGenericContext structure supplied by the caller.

  • File attributes required: FALSE.
