This is an original Core Protocol command. This command is deprecated. New client implementations SHOULD use the SMB_COM_TRANSACTION2 (section 2.2.4.46) subcommand TRANS2_QUERY_PATH_INFORMATION (section 2.2.6.6) instead.

This command MAY be sent by a client to obtain attribute information about a file using the name and path to the file. No FID is required.
