3.1.4.1 Sending a DHCPDISCOVER, DHCPREQUEST, or DHCPINFORM Message

When sending a DHCPDISCOVER, DHCPREQUEST, or DHCPINFORM message, DHCPv4 clients implementing this specification SHOULD<22> include a Vendor Class Identifier Option formatted as in section 2.2.3 and MAY<23> include a User Class Option formatted as in section 2.2.8. Because this specification supports only one user class value in this packet, the client MUST conform to the guidelines for the user class data defined in section 2.2.8.

 When sending a DHCPINFORM message, DHCPv4 clients implementing this specification MAY<24> include an OPTION_PARAMETER_REQUEST_LIST (Option 55) ([RFC2132] section 9.8) with OPTION_USER_CLASS (Option 77) ([RFC3004] section 4) as one of the requested options.
