2.2.2 Policy Administration Message Syntax

Policy Administration messages are typically used by administrative tools to drive a user interface for viewing and editing settings, and they are most importantly used to describe the serialization and deserialization of settings to and from the Group Policy: Preferences Extension Encoding message format. The syntax of the messages is identical to the Preference Policy Message Syntax, as defined in section 2.2.1.

The administrative tool plug-ins that define and edit Group Policy: Preferences Extension Encoding settings read and write the settings using the protocol defined in sections 3.1.5.1, 3.1.5.2, and 3.1.5.3.
