1.4 Relationship to Other Protocols

The Microsoft OCSP Administration Protocol depends on the DCOM Remote Protocol [MS-DCOM]. Microsoft DCOM negotiates its authentication method using the Generic Security Services (GSS) API [RFC2478]. Either NT LAN Manager (NTLM) [MS-NLMP], or Kerberos [RFC4120] and [MS-KILE], can be selected as the authentication method.

No other Microsoft Windows protocol directly depends on the Microsoft OCSP Administration Protocol. This protocol is designed to manage a responder that implements the OCSP [RFC2560].
