3.2 Client Details

The client SHOULD<6> regularly scan its radio spectrum for beacons. When a beacon is received, the client SHOULD examine it for the presence of discovery information elements, and if any are present, compare their format identifier hashes with the known hashes of format identifiers that were previously registered (via MLME-PSD-Config.request). If the client finds a match, it SHOULD notify the client discovery application. The following figure shows a top-level state diagram for the client. Format identifiers are registered via MLME-PSD-Config.request.
