Explore the Visual Studio benefits area in Partner Center
Appropriate roles: Global admin | MPN partner admin
This article describes the Visual Studio benefits available to partners from within Partner Center. You will also learn how to assign users and activate Visual Studio Subscriptions. To see all the Visual Studio subscriptions you’re entitled to as a part of your active enrollment offer, go to MPN>Benefits and then select the Visual Studio tab in the Partner Center menu. All Visual Studio subscriptions are licensed per user, must be assigned, and activated to be valid. You can also see the offer type that provisioned that benefit product to you, the benefit type the offer type that provisioned you this benefit, the benefit type (whether it comes from core, or incremental) and the date of expiry of that benefit.
Manage Visual Studio subscriptions
Select Visual Studio under Benefits tab to see your list of Visual Studio subscriptions.
Find the subscription you want to start using, and then select the down arrow at the far right of the row to expand the subscription details.
To activate a Visual Studio subscription, select a user from the list and then select Assign user. Select a user from within the company (including one of your guest users), that has a user entry created in your Azure Active Directory. Once you have assigned the maximum number of users to a subscription, you cannot re-assign the subscription for 90 days after the date of the original assignment.
If the user you want to assign is not in the list, you can add new users in Account settings.
Repeat this process for each subscription you want to assign. The assigned user can sign in to the Visual Studio portal and manage the subscription. Within the Visual Studio subscriber portal, users may be able to add an alternate identity - in addition to the identity you used to activate their subscription. Read more about Identities for Visual Studio subscribers here.
Visual Studio subscriptions may be reassigned from one subscriber to another if 90 days have passed since the time of the original assignment. For additional information read the Microsoft Partner Programs Guide.
