Business value
The conversion of certain data types will allow users to fix mistakes in their data schema and allow easy onboarding to new features such as Rich Text.
Feature details
Microsoft Dataverse will allow users to change the format used to render data on the following data types:
- Whole number
- Text
- Multiline text
- Date
These updates will let the user change how content is handled by client UIs and controls, without having to create new columns and migrate data over. Examples include changing Text to Text Area, changing DateTime to DateOnly, and changing Timezone to Whole Number.
