Business value

Organizations can establish a compliant stance per their InfoSec team's requirements for their Power BI setup.

Feature details

This feature bundles general availbility for two different capabilities that allow organizations to use Power BI in a more secure way.

  • Organizations can configure Azure networking firewall rules by leveraging service tags. This allows the rules to be applied to the Power BI service at any given time instead of requiring a specific IP address or range. This new change reduces the need for change monitoring and upkeep.
  • Support for Azure Private Links allows organizations to set up well-defined network access paths to their Power BI tenant. It also can be used to reduce the risk of attacks by isolating a tenant from the public internet completely and guaranteeing secure access paths to Power BI content in the Microsoft Cloud.
