Selects a cluster to be used with the Invoke-RmAzureHDInsightHiveJob cmdlet.

Warning

The AzureRM PowerShell module has been officially deprecated as of February 29, 2024. Users are advised to migrate from AzureRM to the Az PowerShell module to ensure continued support and updates.

Syntax

Use-AzureRmHDInsightCluster
   [-ClusterName] <String>
   [-HttpCredential] <PSCredential>

   [-DefaultProfile <IAzureContextContainer>]

Description

The Use-AzureRmHDInsightCluster cmdlet selects the Azure HDInsight cluster for the Invoke-AzureRmHDInsightHiveJob cmdlet to use to submit Hive jobs.

Examples

Example 1: Select a cluster for Hive query submission

PS C:\># Cluster info
PS C:\>$clusterName = "your-hadoop-001"
PS C:\>$clusterCreds = Get-Credential

PS C:\>Use-AzureRmHDInsightCluster `
            -ClusterName $clusterName `
            -ClusterCredential $clusterCreds

This command selects a cluster for a Hive query submission.
