Description

Use this cmdlet to remove an exclude membership rule from a user collection. An exclude membership rule excludes the members of another collection from the user collections where the rule is applied.

For more information, see How to create collections in Configuration Manager.

When you remove an exclude membership rule from a collection, resources may become members of the collection. This action can cause any software or configuration deployment to apply to users in the previously excluded collection.

Example 1: Remove an exclude membership rule from a user collection

This command removes the rule that excludes collection XYZ00089 from the user collection with ID XYZ00012.

Remove-CMUserCollectionExcludeMembershipRule -CollectionId "XYZ00012" -ExcludeCollectionId "XYZ00089" -Force

-CollectionId

Specify the ID of the user collection to remove the rule. This value is the CollectionID property, for example, XYZ00012. Since default collections don't have exclude membership rules, this ID starts with the site code and not SMS.
