Load Testing – Browser Impersonation
Load tests in Visual Studio Team Edition for Testers provide development teams with a way to see how an application acts under various sorts of user load. Browser impersonation allows testers to a heterogeneous browser mix when testing load against a Web application. This allows them to get a more realistic view of application performance and capacity.
Each load test has a set range of parameters called a scenario that determines the conditions for the load test. When specifying the Web browser mix for a load test, testers can specify a number of types of Web browsers to simulate and the proportion of each.
To configure browser impersonation, create a new load test in the Solution Explorer in Visual Studio 2005 and specify Web browser mix settings in New Load Test Wizard.
