CSS, HTML Designer, Options Dialog Box

The CSS dialog box enables you to change default settings for the CSS editor. For each type of HTML content that CSS can be applied to, the dialog box lets you specify classes or inline styles as the default mode of applying styles.

To access this dialog box

  1. In Visual Web Developer, click Tools, and then click Options.

  2. In the left panel, expand HTML Designer, and then click CSS.

    Note

    If your environment settings are configured for Web development, by default the elements of this node are not available. To display them, select the Show all settings check box. For more information about environment settings, see How to: Change Select Settings.

    You can find additional CSS options the HTML Designer node, which is visible if the Show all settings check box is selected.

Options for Applying CSS Styles

  • Font and text
    Lets you specify CSS (classes) or CSS (inline styles) as the default mode of applying CSS to this kind of HTML element.

  • Padding and borders
    Lets you specify CSS (classes) or CSS (inline styles) as the default mode of applying CSS to this kind of HTML element.

  • Floating, positioning, and sizing
    Lets you specify CSS (classes) or CSS (inline styles) as the default mode of applying CSS to this kind of HTML element.

  • Bullets and numbering
    Lets you specify CSS (classes) or CSS (inline styles) as the default mode of applying CSS to this kind of HTML element.

  • Background
    Lets you specify CSS (classes) or CSS (inline styles) as the default mode of applying CSS to this kind of HTML element.

  • Margins
    Lets you specify CSS (classes) or CSS (inline styles) as the default mode of applying CSS to this kind of HTML element.
