How to Configure E-mail Settings for a CSS Server

This topic provides steps for configuring e-mail settings in Commerce Server Staging (CSS). You can specify various settings such as the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) host for sending notification e-mail and an originating e-mail address.

To configure e-mail settings in CSS

  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Commerce Server 2007 , and the click Commerce Server Staging.

  2. In Microsoft Management Console (MMC), in the left pane, expand Commerce Server Staging, right-click <server name>, and then click Properties.

  3. In the Commerce Server Staging - <server name> Properties dialog box, on the E-Mail tab, do the following:

    Use this

    To do this

    SMTP host

    Type the server name for the SMTP host.

    Sent by

    Type the e-mail address for the e-mail originator.

    If deployment fails

    Type an e-mail address to receive notifications when a staging project fails.

    After deployment succeeds

    Type an e-mail address to receive notifications when a staging project succeeds.

    Always

    Type an e-mail address to receive notifications when a staging project succeeds or fails.

  4. Click OK.
