How to Install the Business Management Applications on the Business Management Server

After you install and configure Commerce Server 2009 and unpack a .pup package, you install the Business Management applications. Commerce Server includes the following Business Management applications:

  • Catalog Manager. Use for catalog Web site management activities.

  • Customer and Orders Manager. Use for managing your Orders System and your Profiles System.

  • Marketing Manager. Use for discount, advertisements, and direct mail Web site management activities.

  • Catalog and Inventory Schema Manager. Use to modify the types of information maintained in your Catalog System and your Inventory System.

You install the Business Management applications from the Commerce Server 20007 CD.

To install the Business Management applications on the business management server

  1. Insert the Commerce Server 2007 CD into the CD drive.

    If the Microsoft Commerce Server 2007 splash screen does not appear, run the setup.exe file from the product CD.

  2. In the Microsoft Commerce Server 2007 splash screen, in the Install section, click Microsoft Commerce Server Business User Applications.

  3. On the Customer Information page, type a name, company, and then click Next.

  4. On the License Agreement page, click Yes, I accept the terms of the license agreement, and then click Next.

  5. On the Component Installation page, click Next.

  6. On the Summary page, click Install.

    The Installation Progress page appears that states that the Setup program is installing the selected program features.

  7. On the Installation Completed page, click Finish.
