Product Sales (Dynamic)

Use the Product Sales report to review product sales volume and revenue by date. This report shows the total quantity and revenue, sorted by product category. For each product category displayed, the report shows the sales information for all products in that category and all descendant categories.

For example, if you have a product category hierarchy with a top level of "Electronics," it might contain two child categories—"Clocks" and "Radios." A single sale for one product (a clock radio) that you categorized as belonging to "Clocks" and "Radios" would show in the report as a quantity of 1 under the category "Electronics" because the product belongs to a child category of "Electronics."

However, if the "Electronics" category is expanded, the sale will show as a quantity of 1 under "Clocks" and a quantity of 1 under "Radios" because the clock radio belongs to both categories. Although the product sale is shown under both child categories of "Electronics," the product is included only once in the total for the "Electronics" category.

The following table lists the measures that this report contains.

Measure Description
Quantity The number of the item sold.
Revenue The total of the sales of the item.

The following table lists the dimensions that this report contains.

Dimension Description
Date The date of each sale.

Product Category The product category hierarchy of the item sold.
Currency The currency in which each sale was made.
