Lab 9: Providing Recommendations for Product Browsing

Using the Product Browsing model you can provide real-time product recommendations to browse on your site as users shop for products (cross-browse). The Predictor model built from the Product Browsing model configuration predicts what product a user might be interested in based upon the browsing pattern of the user. The model then displays the recommended product on the product pages.

For demonstration purposes, a pre-built model is provided at:

<drive:>\inetpub\wwwroot\predictordemo\predictormodels\productbrowsing.pmf.

The sample Product Browsing model is implemented for the Predictor Demo site. In this example, user browsing activity is recorded only for registered users. In order to see cross-browse recommendations you must login to the site as a registered user. You may need to register first.

Step 1: To view cross-browse recommendations

  1. Start Internet Explorer, and then go to https://localhost/predictordemo to visit your Predictor Demo site.
