Specifying the Discount Display

A discount contains two different types of displays, a basket display and an ad display.

  • Basket display. The basket display explains to users, either in text or HTML, the discount they are given. It is important that the discount is explained clearly to users, because they may abandon the basket if they are confused.
  • Ad display. The ad display specifies how and in what form a discount appears to the user. The Content Selection Framework (CSF) determines whether the ad is to be displayed promoting the discount. For example, you can display a large ad on your home page promoting a 20 percent discount for all products in your catalog. You can also specify how many times a particular discount is to appear to a user within a session.
