Finding Items in a Catalog

You use the Catalog Editor module to search a catalog. You can perform the following searches:

  • Keyword search. When you add property definitions to your catalog, you select the Free text searchable box to specify that they are available for free text search. A free text search retrieves all instances of the property in your catalog. These property definitions are logged into an index.

You must update the full-text index after changes are made to your catalogs that are marked as searchable. For information about updating the full-text index, see Refreshing and Publishing a Catalog.

  • Search by properties. You can search for properties that have specific values. For example, Price < $10 and Color = Red. By default, all properties can be used in property searches.
