SharePoint Document Management software requirements for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011

Microsoft SharePoint is not required to install Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011. However, to use SharePoint document management functionality one of the following SharePoint editions is required and must be installed, running, and at least one SharePoint site collection configured and available for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011:

• Microsoft SharePoint 2013

• Microsoft SharePoint 2010 (all editions)

• Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007

You enable document management functionality with SharePoint in the Settings area of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM web application. Notice that the user who accesses SharePoint from Microsoft Dynamics CRM must have appropriate permissions on the SharePoint site collection where the document management functionality components are installed. Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 List Component for Microsoft SharePoint

For documents to appear in Microsoft SharePoint 2010 or Microsoft SharePoint 2013 by using a list view, the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 List Component for Microsoft SharePoint must be installed.

For Microsoft SharePoint 2010, if the component is not installed the data appears in a windowless inline floating frame (IFrame).

For Microsoft SharePoint 2013, data does not appear in an IFrame. Instead, the error message “This page cannot be displayed in IFrame” is displayed when you use Internet Explorer. If you use Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Apple Safari web browsers, no data or error message are displayed.

Although you can use document management functionality with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007, the data always appears in an IFrame.

Important

There are two versions of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 List Component for Microsoft SharePoint:

• Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 List Component for Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013. This version does not work with SharePoint 2010.
  
  
• Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 List Component for Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010. This version does not work with SharePoint 2013.
  
  

SharePoint 2013 does not support Internet Explorer 7. Therefore, you cannot use Internet Explorer 7 with Microsoft Dynamics CRM (on-premises) document management deployments that use SharePoint 2013. For more information, see Plan browser support in SharePoint 2013.
