Publishing the Metadata
[Applies to: Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0]
Find the latest SDK documentation: CRM 2015 SDK
When you have finished making changes to the metadata, you must use one of the publish messages in the CrmService Web service to have the changes appear in the application. Delete operations do not need to be published. In addition to publishing the metadata changes, these messages also publish form, view, and other changes.
The following table lists the methods that are available for publishing metadata changes.
|PublishAllXml||Publishes all customizations.|
|PublishXml||Publishes the specified customizations.|
Each retrieve message contains a flag called RetrieveAsIfPublished that you can set to true to retrieve the metadata as if the current changes have been published. If this flag is set to false, the retrieve messages return only metadata that has been published and does not contain any changes made since publishing.
