Microsoft Dynamics Marketing makes it easy to analyze itineraries and travel-related information. In Microsoft Dynamics Marketing you can create a multi-segment (part) itinerary for a contact. You can quickly create transport items per your requirements.

View travel itineraries

To view travel itineraries, do one of the following:

  • To view itineraries for all contacts, go to Marketing Execution > Event Management > Travel. The Travel page displays all travel itineraries.

  • To view itineraries for a specific contact, open the appropriate Contact maintenance page and then select the Travel related-information tab.

Create a new itinerary

  1. Choose the New button New button on the Travel page or All Travel page.

  2. Enter the information.

  3. Choose Submit.

    Description

    Status

    Select a status from the pull-down menu. (Required.)

    Contact

    Select the contact the itinerary is for from the pull-down menu. (Required.)

    Name/Destination

    Enter the name of the itinerary or the destination. (Required.)

    Event

    Select the event the travel is for from the pull-down menu. (Optional.)

    Description

    Enter a description if necessary. (Optional.)

    Departure Date

    Enter the departure date and time. (Required.)

    Return Date

    Enter the return date and time. (Required.)

    Reminder Date

    Enter the reminder date and time. If you have travel reminder alerts activated, you will receive an email reminder on the reminder date/time. (Optional.)

Add a new transportation item

  1. Choose the New Transportation button New button.

    Microsoft Dynamics Marketing opens the Transportation Item page.

  2. Enter the information.

  3. Choose Submit.

    Description

    Carrier

    Enter the name of the carrier. (Required.)

    Flight/Service

    Enter the flight number or the service name. (Optional.)

    Reservation #/Locator

    Enter the reservation number or locator number. (Optional.)

    Details

    Enter more information about the item. (Optional.)

    Depart From

    Enter the departure location. (Optional.)

    Departure Date/Time/Time Zone

    Enter the departure date, time and time zone. (Optional.)

    Arrive at

    Enter the arrival location. (Optional.)

    Arrival Date/Time/Time Zone

    Enter the arrival date, time and time zone. (Optional.)

Add a new accommodation item

To add a accommodation item to an itinerary:

  1. Open the Accommodations related-information tab for a travel item and choose the New button on the tab.

    Microsoft Dynamics Marketing opens the Add Accommodation page.

  2. Enter the information.

  3. Choose Submit

    Property

    Enter the name of the property (hotel, resort, etc). (Required.)

    Confirmation #

    Enter the confirmation number. (Optional.)

    Details

    Enter more information about the item. (Optional.)

    Check In Date/Time/Time Zone

    Enter the check in date, time and time zone. (Optional.)

    Check Out Date/Time/Time Zone

    Enter the check-out date, time and time zone. (Optional.)

User defined fields

Microsoft Dynamics Marketing lets Administrators set up user defined fields. More information: Configure user defined fields
