Getting Started with Microsoft Dynamics NAV Portal Framework

Microsoft Dynamics NAV Portal Framework for Microsoft SharePoint 2010 provides access to Microsoft Dynamics NAV data from Microsoft SharePoint 2010 sites without having to perform extra or specialized development work. You use Microsoft Dynamics NAV Portal Framework to display pages and reports on Microsoft SharePoint sites. Users can view and edit data just like they do by using the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Windows client, except they are using a web browser.

To get started

  1. Prepare the environment.

    Install the prerequisites and configure the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 or SharePoint Server 2010 and Microsoft Dynamics NAV on all computers. For more information, see System Requirements for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013.

  2. Install and configure Microsoft Dynamics NAV Portal Framework on Microsoft SharePoint applications.

    You can have several SharePoint applications. During installation, you decide on which application to install Microsoft Dynamics NAV Portal Framework for Microsoft SharePoint 2010. You install Microsoft Dynamics NAV Portal Framework using Microsoft Dynamics NAV Setup. After you run Setup, you can change the configuration on each application as needed or deploy the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Portal Framework on additional applications.   3. Develop and deploy Microsoft Dynamics NAV Portal Framework for SharePoint applications.
